Cardiology Appointment

To those of you who still check my blog, I have a request. Jacob has a cardiology appointment on Monday, Sept. 29 at 10:00. I would greatly appreciate prayer for us. This is always a hard time for me and for Ben. I seem to get anxious and worried. I trust God in it all, but that worry still creeps in. Jacob has been a little more tired lately. But my question is: Is it because he is a teenager or from his heart making his body work harder? I can tell he is more tired because he has bags under his eyes more often. Then I think to myself am I just searching for things. There are times I just feel like I want it to be time for surgery just to simply get it over with for a while. But then I think, no I am not ready. I know it will all happen in God's timing. Anyway, please just keep us all in prayer. Pray that we will get clear answers to when Jacob will need surgery. Thank you all for your prayers! I will post after his appointment to let you all know how it went.

Other than that we are all doing well. Both kids back in school and doing pretty well. Jacob is playing fall ball right now. And Megan is playing volleyball. Ben and I are doing good. Both of our jobs are good. Nothing else to really share. Oh yeah, I am coming down in Oct. for a weekend for my sister's wedding. I am looking forward to going to church at New Life, when I am there. Miss you all!

The Tornado

Just thought I would share some photo's from our tornado that hit about 10 miles from our house. These photo's are actually from our friends who were closer to the tornado. Let me just tell you it was incredible.
Ben & I were headed to store to just pick up a few items and saw the funnel cloud. It was really faint at first, then it almost looked like it was going away. Then all of a sudden we saw it get bigger and darker, and bigger and darker, and then the dust or whatever it was coming from the bottom. We decided to go back home. I guess it was touching ground for about 15 - 20 minutes. I was amazing. It is definitely something I will never forget. I am thankful that we were kept safe. I tell you with something like this, how can anyone doubt there is a God. That is just incredible. I was in awe over it all. Can you tell? :~)
Well, it is getting late so I need to go. I hope all is well with you. Missing my family and friends!!
Have a wonderful week!

More pics!

Here are some pics from Pike's Peak and our ride back home. We saw the chipmunks, deers and more. We had a good time. I have more pics, but I just can't post them all. I guess some of you are just going to have to come visit us and you can see the beauty here. We have an extra room. I would love to see my friends!

Pike's Peak

Just thought I would post some pictures from our trip to Pike's Peak. It was just incredible up there. The beauty is so amazing. It is just breathe taking to look at all that God has created. We had a just wonderful with my parents. We could have had better weather, but it was all good. I will post more pics from our trip. I hope all is well with you all. Miss you friends!

Our yard!!

Just thought I would post some pictures of our finished yard. We have spent some much of our time on it in the last 3 months or so. It really has been a family effort though. The kids have been great helping. These pictures are from the morning after we laid the sod. So the clean up had not happened yet. Ben & I were up working on it passed 10:30 pm on Friday. It sure does feel good to have it done. We just have a couple of little things to do now. Jacob was a big help with the digging, spreading dirt, putting in the rock and the sod. Megan helped where she could, she helped mostly my helping to keep Molly entertained. That was great. We sure do work great as a family. I hope this all finds you doing well. We are doing really good here.

Take care,

Kim

Our patio & a beautiful sunset.

So, I thought I would post a couple of pictures. We have been working on our patio for about 2 months, and it is finally done. Whew hew! Ben did about 90% of the work. He is so good! I am a blessed woman.
Also, I have to share the beautiful sunset we have on Saturday night. I love it. Our next project is getting our sprinkler system in and then the rock & grass. Can't wait to get it all done. We are a bit tired of the dirt and mud being dragged in. Anyway, just wanted to share. We are still doing really well. Hope you are all well there. Have a wonderful week!

Our visit

Here are some photo's of my visit with my mom & dad. We had a really good time together. It was hard to see them go. I am glad that they will be back to visit again in August. We took a couple of hikes and also looked at some houses. I am praying for God to make it possible for them to move here. I know they would love it. It is just so beautiful and so much to do.

I hope everyone is doing well. I still miss you all. We are doing really good though. The kids are getting ready to finish up school. They are keeping us busy now with baseball & softball. Ben is helping on Jacob's team and I am helping on Megan's. It is fun! I love the closeness of our family and how we continue to grow closer. I am looking forward to the summer and more hikes and bikes rides and who knows what else we will do. I am sure we will have many adventures as we usually do. Never a dull moment. :~)

Take care everyone! Hugs!

Whew hew!

I just have to tell you all that I am so excited! My mom & dad are coming to visit us in one week. I can't wait to see them both. I miss being able to see them at least once a week. I am very close to my parents and it has been a little difficult being away. For the most part I do good, but I have those times I am just down. It is hard to be away from family and friends. I am hoping that by visiting now and in August, that they will love it so much that they will move here. We all would love to have them here. They will be here for Megan's birthday. She is really excited about that.
It is hard to believe we have been out of California for 10 months already. I honestly don't see us moving back there either. We really do love it here in Colorado. As much as I miss family and friends, I am so glad we are here. We have grown closer as a family and I love it. Even Megan the other day said she was so glad we moved here. She says, "We do more things as a family here than we did in California." I think she heard Ben & I say that a couple of times. Hehe!
Both the kids really like their schools and are doing great. My puppy is still good too. I can't wait for my mom & dad to see her.
Well, that is all I have for now. I will post either while my parents are here or after. I will try and post some pictures then too. I hope all is well with everyone. Miss you!

Hi All!

Hello to everyone. Sorry it has been so long since I have blogged. Is anyone still checking it out? Things have been busy here, but all good.

Our Easter was nice. We went to church on Saturday night and then took Sunday to just be us. It was a good day. We got up and let the kids hunt for eggs. I made a big breakfast for us all. Then we just hung out and got ourselves put together. We went for a hike with our puppy to the Castle Rock. It was an easy hike. My puppy loved it. The kids had a great time too. They love to climb the rocks, especially Jake. I just can't watch him sometimes, it scares me. Ben tells me just let him be a boy, so then I just look the other way. The rest of our Easter was just relaxing.

Jacob has been playing basketball at school, so between practices and games it has been busy. He is doing pretty good. He has a friend that lives right around the corner, like two houses away. The only problem has been that that friend is grounded. That is not so fun. Megan is doing good too. She has a friend who lives close, just a couple of blocks away. They hang out a lot. It is so nice. Megan is also doing choir at school. She enjoys that quit a bit. She also had a softball clinic on Saturday, so we will be starting all that soon. I believe she will start practicing this next month for softball and Jacob will start baseball soon too. Life is about to get a bit crazy. This is a time that I am very thankful to be not working. There are time I do miss work, but all in all I am thankful to be home. It works great for the kids. Megan's friend comes over a lot after school. Couldn't do that if I was working. I do thank God for that.

Ben is still really liking his job. It is really great to see him happy with his work. God has been so good to us. It is hard to believe we have already been in Colorado almost nine months. We absolutely love it still. This last weekend we went up to Vail Saturday afternoon and stayed in a condo from Ben's work. Then we skied and snowboarded on Sunday. It was a nice get away. Saturday we walked around at Copper and then Vail. Did a little shopping. Then we just relaxed at the condo. Sunday we went to Copper to ski and were there right about when the lifts opened. We always try to get there then, but doesn't seem to work out mostly. We skied until about 1:00 then headed home. It was a great day. We have done so much as a family outdoors here then we ever did before. We are really loving it. With the weather getting nicer it is time to plan some hiking and camping trips.

I think that is about all that is happening here. I pray everyone is doing well. I still miss my family and friends. Ready for you all to come visit. :~) Take care!

Our new member

I just had to post a blog about my new puppy. I am so excited about her. As you can see by the pictures she is adorable. We just got her today. She is just over eight weeks old. She was born on Jacob's birthday. He thought that was pretty cool. She is a Beagle. I love her so much. Her name is going to be Molly. I love her eyes too. Our whole family is pretty happy about it. I don't really have time to blog much, so there you go. I still miss all my family & friends. Hugs to you all!

Getting Settled

Well, it has been a very busy couple of weeks. We moved last weekend into our new home. We did a lot of painting at our new house. Then packing at the old house & cleaning it. Then unpacking at the new house. We are finally getting settled in. It is feeling more like home each day. We had like three nights without any blinds or anything on our windows. It is so nice to have our privacy back. I still have some touch up painting to do and then I can start putting up curtains and pictures. This week coming up should be pretty low key so I will be able to get that stuff done or at least a big part of it done.

The kids are doing good with the new house. Jacob started his new school last week. It went so good. The first day they have 2 kids show him around and where all of his classes are and those kids also have lunch with him the first day. It worked out so well, one of the kids is in all of Jacob's classes on Mon. & Wed. and the other kids is in all of his classes on Tues. & Thurs. How cool is that?! God is so good. He is getting along with those kids really well too. Then he met another kid and the second day got his number. This was so cool, because at his last school he didn't have any of his friends numbers. I am so happy for him. Jacob also has more male teachers at the new school. Which I think is a wonderful thing. He will also be playing on the 7th grade boy's basketball team. As for Megan, she actually went off track as we moved. She will start her new school on March 4th. She was able to meet her teacher before they tracked off though. That was really good for her. The other good thing for her is that when she tracks back on the choir will be beginning (it is only during the spring). And it is after school on Mondays. Which is really good because at her last school is was at 7:45 on Friday's and Megan never wanted to get up that early. She is excited to start her new school. That is a huge relief for Ben & I.

I will be signing Jacob up for baseball this week and Megan for softball. It is about to get really busy in our house. This is when I am thinking I will be very grateful to be a stay at home mom. I am excited about it all. I love to watch me kids play whatever sport they are doing. So, here we go into a new season.

I believe that is all that has been happening around here. Hopefully soon I can take some pictures of the house and post them. Give me a couple of weeks. I hope you all are doing well. I miss you all. Have a great week!

Busy

Hi everyone, just thought I would post real quick. Things have been really busy around here. We will be moving into our new home this weekend. Last week we signed all the papers and got our keys. Yeah! Then this last weekend we painted. It is looking so nice. I get to go over today and paint some more. Hopefully I will be all done by this weekend. I only have the master bath and touch up stuff to do. It is all moving along pretty good. Well, I don't have much time today so I will have to close this post now. I just thought I would say Hi. I will try to post some pics after we get moved in. I hope you all are doing great. Bye for now, and have a wonderful day!

Blessings

I thought it was about time to give you an update on the happenings from the Kemper home. Things are going really good. God has just been blessing us so much. It has been wonderful. We continue to pray that we are in His will. Let me share a little more.
Okay, so most of you know we were looking at buying the home that is pictured in my previous post. Well, it is a go. We are very excited. God has opened every door and done even more. Our closing date on the house is January 31st. Wow huh, that is coming up quick.(no I have not started packing) We are planning on moving in the weekend of Feb. 8-10. This will give me a week to paint the walls the color I want and put the blinds up and light/fans. It is a new home, but I really don't want white walls. I am so excited to get it all ready. Okay back to how God has blessed us. Today I get a call from the loan company needing more info, no problem there. I asked the lady what interest rate we ended up locking in. She looks it up and come to find out they didn't lock one in. Yeah, that is not good. I was a little annoyed at that moment, but just thought okay whatever happens happens. We originally thought we would have about a 6% rate. So, I get an email from her with our locked rate at 5.5%. How crazy is that? God is so good. Well, that is not all that God did today. My insurance company calls me today to verify stuff for the house and give me my monthly cost. The loan company had it estimated at about $66 a month. I finished all the stuff for insurance and she tells me my cost will be $25 a month. Yeah!!! So, with the rate being lower and insurance being lower we are saving about $75 a month. How cool is that?! I don't remember if I told you all this before but the company we are buying our house from is buying out our lease and paying the fees to break the lease. And they are paying $9,000 to closing cost. Mind you they took about $32,000 off of the house. Yeah, I think God is taking care of us. I have such a peace about it all. Ben & I have been getting along great during it all. That is huge because it is usually very stressful around our home when we are buying a house. God is so good all of the time!!!!! I have been thanking him all day. Oh, I almost forgot. Also, today I got a call from the company we rent from and they wanted to show the house today at 1:15. I had about an hour to get the house looking good. Thank goodness I keep up on it. I was running around crazy though. My plan today was to spot clean the carpets, well that didn't happen. Maybe tomorrow. One more thing went good today, I fixed my little vacuum cleaner. It stopped working last week and I really need it to clean my stairs. I was a little proud of myself on fixing it. So, all in all today has been wonderful. I want to thank all of you that have been praying for us during this process. Please continue to lift us up.
I will try to post more often. Miss you all! Please come visit us. We will have plenty of room for visitors in February. :~)
